MIKE CALVINO

PROFESSIONAL CAREER

Mike Calvino works as a commercial director and cinematographer with over 20 years experience in Film & TV production having begun work as a camera operator shooting documentaries in inner city Sydney during the early 90’s. In the early 2000’s he moved north and completed a Bachelor of Screen Production (BFTPr) at the Queensland College of Art in 2004.

Since then he has worked for some of the worlds leading youth lifestyle brands, managing both creative direction for global advertising campaigns as well as managing International Media teams for Billabong international, overseeing all aspects of content production for global distribution across numerous platforms and collaborating on projects with Sony Pictures, MTV and Vice, as well as directing a number of award winning short films and advertising campaigns.

His past and present client base include: Red Bull, Canon, Oakley, Panasonic, Bacardi, Moccona & Lee Jeans to name a few and recently picked up a Silver Award for Cinematography at the Brisbane Advertising and Design Awards.
